Redefining Digital Literacy in Nepal
Welcome to NepalType, a Nepali typing ecosystem. In an era where digital communication is the backbone of professional and personal growth, we identified a critical gap: the lack of a unified, modern platform that bridges the traditional world of Preeti font with the global standard of Unicode.
Our platform is not just a typing tutor; it is a dedicated workspace for learners, professionals, and developers. Whether you are preparing for the rigorous Loksewa Ayog (Public Service Commission) exams, working as a journalist requiring high-speed Unicode entry, or a student learning to type your first Nepali word, NepalType provides the tools you need to succeed.
A Complete Ecosystem for Nepali Typing
We have evolved beyond simple drills. Today, NepalType offers a suite of powerful tools designed to cover every aspect of the Nepali typing experience:
🎯 Focused Learning Modes
Specific curriculums for Preeti, Traditional Unicode (Bakamataper), Romanized Unicode, and English. Each mode features intelligent error tracking and heatmap analytics to identify your weak keys.
🚀 The "Typing Zone"
A revolutionary sandbox environment where you can switch input methods instantly without reloading the page. Draft official letters, mix English and Nepali, or practice freely with auto-save functionality.
🔄 Advanced Font Conversion
Our integrated Preeti-to-Unicode Converter allows instant bi-directional conversion. Convert common Nepali characters and conjuncts (Samyukta Akshar) in either direction. Check converted text against the original, especially complex or unusual legacy documents.
Our Mission & Technology
NepalType was born out of frustration with existing tools that were either laden with ads, required heavy software installations, or offered poor user experiences. We set out to build a typing platform that simply works.
Privacy Focused: Typing practice and TypeZone drafts run in your browser, and optional accounts allow supported progress to be saved. Text submitted to the font converter is sent to NepalType's conversion service. See the Privacy Policy for details on what is collected and why.
Built for real devices: NepalType works on desktop, government office computers, and mobile phones — including with a USB keyboard — so you can practice wherever you are.
Join the Movement
We are building more than just software; we are building a standard for digital Nepali literacy. We are constantly refining our typing lessons based on real-world feedback from students, typists, and professionals.
