At NepalType, accessible from https://www.nepaltype.com, protecting your privacy is a priority. This policy explains what information NepalType collects, why it is collected, and the choices you have. Typing practice is designed to work directly in your browser, and signing in is always optional.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, and profile information provided when you sign in with Google. Signing in is optional.
- Typing progress: typing results, lesson progress, and leaderboard information, saved when you use an account to sync progress across devices.
- Local information: certain preferences, drafts, or progress may remain stored locally on your own device. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
- User submissions: reviews, ratings, bug reports, feedback, and contact details you voluntarily send us so we can respond and improve NepalType.
- Optional operational diagnostics: when enabled, NepalType records an error category, script path and line number to investigate failures. This does not include raw error messages, keystrokes, converter text, passwords or authentication tokens.
- Converter text: text submitted to the font converter is sent to NepalType's conversion service to produce the result. The converter also remembers its text on your device until you clear it or clear site data.
- Analytics: with your permission, analytics may be used to understand how visitors use NepalType and to improve the website. Optional Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you accept analytics. Clarity provides session recordings and click/scroll heatmaps; page text is masked before recording starts.
- Service activity: when signed in, completed practice and account activity may contribute to site-wide statistics, separately from optional Google Analytics. Hosting services also process connection information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the website.
Typing practice and TypeZone editing run in your browser. TypeZone drafts stay on your device. Account sync sends progress and results rather than raw practice keystrokes. The font converter sends the text you submit for conversion, so avoid submitting confidential information.
2. How We Use Information
Information is used to operate NepalType and for the purposes described here: providing typing lessons and tools, saving and syncing progress for signed-in users, displaying leaderboards and approved reviews, responding to support requests, understanding site usage, and protecting the service against misuse. NepalType does not sell your personal information.
3. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising
NepalType uses essential storage that is required for core functionality, such as remembering your privacy choice and keeping you signed in. Optional analytics cookies are used only according to your consent choice — you can accept or reject them, and you can change your choice at any time through Cookie Settings, available in the website footer. 4. Account and Saved Progress
You can use NepalType fully without an account; progress then stays only on your device. If you sign in with Google, your typing progress can be saved to your account and synced across devices, and you can appear on public leaderboards and submit reviews. You can sign out at any time.
Your display name and results can appear on leaderboards. Approved reviews can display your name, profile image, rating and review text. Include only information you are comfortable sharing publicly.
5. Third-Party Services
NepalType relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:
- Google sign-in and account services, which handle authentication and basic account information and store supported account progress and submissions when you choose to sign in.
- Google AdSense, which may display advertisements on selected English-language guide and article pages. Advertising privacy choices are handled separately through Google’s consent messages where applicable.
- Google Analytics, which measures site usage only when you consent to optional analytics cookies.
- Microsoft Clarity, which provides session recordings and heatmaps after analytics consent. Page text is masked, and NepalType does not send account identifiers to Clarity. Recording stops when you withdraw consent through Cookie Settings.
- Report and review notification delivery, which forwards submitted reports and review notifications to the site operator. Reports may include the message, contact information and attachment you choose to send.
- Operator alerts: when enabled, Telegram delivers operational summaries and saved certificate issuance identifiers, mode and time to the site operator. These alerts do not send a full certificate document or raw typing text. Reports and sanitized events may also be retained in the operator's private support inbox.
These providers process information under their own policies. NepalType may display Google AdSense advertisements on selected English-language guide and article pages, subject to Google's approval and ad availability.
When advertisements are served, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and collect IP addresses, device/browser information and other identifiers. They use and share this information to deliver and measure advertisements, limit repeated ads and detect fraud; personalized advertising also depends on applicable consent and account settings. Advertising choices are separate from NepalType's optional analytics settings. Where Google's consent message is displayed, use its choices and the advertising privacy link it provides to manage or withdraw advertising consent. Cookie Settings in NepalType's footer manages Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
6. Your Choices and Data Rights
You can use NepalType without an account, accept or reject optional cookies, and change your cookie choice at any time through Cookie Settings. You may ask us to correct or delete information linked to your account — such as progress, leaderboard entries, or reviews — by contacting us at the address below; please include the email address you signed in with. Deleted reviews are also removed from future public ratings. Some anonymized, aggregated statistics (for example, site-wide totals) cannot be traced back to you and are not deleted per user.
7. Data Retention and Security
Reasonable security measures are used to protect account information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so no absolute guarantee can be given. Information stored only on your device is lost if you clear site data. Account-linked information is kept while your account is used by the service until you request deletion. Contact us to ask about or remove your saved information.
8. Children's Privacy
NepalType is a general-audience typing tutor and is not directed at young children. Accounts are created through Google sign-in, which carries its own age requirements. If you believe a child has provided personal information in error, contact us and we will address it.
9. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as NepalType changes. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date below, and the policy will always be updated before any new data collection or advertising is introduced.
